Marshmello and Khalid have previously collaborated on the song "Silence", which has garnered more than 2 billion streams worldwide and has gone six times platinum. After five years, they return with the summer anthem "Numb".
"Khalid and I were always discussing recording another song, so I sent him this idea and he really liked it," says Marshmello.
"I was very happy when I asked him if he wanted to record the song and he said yes, because it was a little different for him, but I knew he would do a good job. "He sent it to me the next day and I knew immediately that we had a guaranteed success," he continues.
"Mello and I share a great friendship and when we're together to make music, we always have a great time," says Khalid. "'Silence' is a favorite song of my fans and I really like singing it with him, so I look forward to continuing our collaboration with 'Numb,'" he adds.
