Sean Penn takes the mic in the music video for 'Use Me (Brutal Hearts)'.
Diplo releases a new song under his country moniker Thomas Wesley.
"Use Me (Brutal Hearts)" featuring Dove Cameron and country singer Sturgill Simpson reincarnated as Johnny Blue Skies, is accompanied by a music video starring popular actor Sean Penn as Johnny Blue Skies.
"Use Me (Brutal Hearts)" will be featured on "Diplo Presents Thomas Wesley: Chapter 2 – Swamp Savant," Diplo's new country album due out on Columbia Records / Sony Music on April 28.
The album will also feature the recent single 'Wasted' featuring Kodak Black and Koe Wetzel.
"To prepare for this new Thomas Wesley project, I moved back to my father's house in Florida and spent six months learning guitar, getting in touch with nature, working on his boat when the shrimp were full moon at the trailer park," Diplo says.
“I tried on a lot of cowboy hats. I rode a lot of motorcycles and horses, basically reflected on my whole life and my career and my connection to this music… there was a lot. It all started in the swamps where I grew up,” he adds.
"This is the biggest single job I've ever done, I can promise you that," he says.
'Swamp Savant' is Diplo's second record under the country moniker Thomas Wesley.
2020 saw the release of the gold 'Diplo Presents Thomas Wesley Chapter 1: Snake Oil', which featured the six-time platinum single 'Heartless' featuring Morgan Wallen and the gold singles 'Dance With Me' featuring Thomas Rhett and Young Thug and ' Lonely' with the Jonas Brothers.
Later this month, Diplo will return as Thomas Wesley to the Stagecoach country festival for the third time.
Diplo will close the annual festival with his 'Late Night in Palomino' section and curate his own stage, 'Diplo's HonkyTonk', featuring Dillon Francis, Girl Talk, Lost Frequencies and more. It will also be followed by a very special Thomas Wesley show on May 10th at Nashville's Wildhorse Saloon.
