Selena Gomez has sent a message to her fans about the 'threats on her life' that Hailey Bieber is reportedly receiving.
After Selena Gomez announced in late February that she would be taking another hiatus from social media amid rumors of a rekindled feud with Hailey Bieber, she posted an urgent message on Instagram pleading with her fans to tone it down.
Selena Gomez revealed on Friday (March 24) that the model reached out to her privately about the threats she's been receiving on social media over their alleged feud.
"Hailey Bieber contacted me and let me know that she has been receiving threats on her life and a lot of hateful negativity," Selena Gomez wrote in a post on her Instagram stories.
“That's not what I'm advocating. No one should have to deal with hate or bullying. I have always stood for kindness and I really want all this to stop," he added.
Selena Gomez also followed Hailey Bieber on Instagram and the model followed back.
In recent weeks, social media users have theorized that Hailey Bieber and her friends are mocking Selena Gomez with their TikTok videos and vice versa.
In February, Selena Gomez took to TikTok to announce that she was retiring from social media for the foreseeable future, commenting: “I'm fine. I love who I am, I don't care. I'm big on that."
On the same day, Selena Gomez surpassed Kylie Jenner to become the most followed woman on Instagram – with more than 380 million followers. He currently has over 400 million followers.
Selena Gomez has returned to social media a week later with a major message amid rumors that her latest internet exit is due to her feud with Hailey Bieber.
“Please, please be kinder and considerate of other people's mental health. My heart is broken and I only want good for everyone. All my love," he said.
During an appearance on the 'Call Her Daddy' podcast in September, Hailey Bieber insisted there's "no feud" with Selena Gomez and revealed she spoke to her after she tied the knot with Justin Bieber in 2018.
"That's why I say, it's all respect, it's all love," the 26-year-old model said.
"That's also why I feel like if everybody on our side knows what happened and we're fine and we can get through it with clarity and respect, then, like, that's fine," he added, responding to rumors that he had "stolen ” Justin Bieber by Selena Gomez.
