The song is expected to be included on Pharrell Williams' next album.
Pharrell Williams and BTS's RM talked about their upcoming collaboration.
Pharrell Williams' next album is tentatively titled 'Phriends' and among his (new) friends on board is BTS, who recorded a brand new song with him.
Pharrell Williams and BTS's RM met for this year's edition of Rolling Stone's 'Musicians on Musicians' feature and had an in-depth conversation where they expressed their excitement for their upcoming collaboration, which they worked on remotely.
"Well, my project, it's called... It's my name and the title of the album is 'Phriends,'" Pharrell Williams told RM.
"It's the first part. You (BTS) are there, obviously. And I actually talk about it a lot more than I should, but it's a song from my album that they (BTS) sang on and it's amazing and I'm extremely grateful,” he continued.
RM said, "I just love this song," and Pharrell noted that "everyone who listens to it goes, 'Wow.'"
Meanwhile, RM is expected to release his first full-length solo album (as opposed to his two solo mixtapes) soon, and in the interview, Pharrell Williams offered to produce a song.
"Tell me what you want. Uptempo? We're gonna do uptempo," Pharrell commented.
Satisfied with their collaboration, Pharrell Williams told RM that he is more than willing to contribute his talent to his solo album.
“You said you're 90% done with your solo album. But if in that last 10 percent, if you need, you don't need me, but I mean…” he commented.
"I've always needed you, for 15 years," RM replied, adding that he felt "honored and grateful."
Closing out their conversation, Pharrell Williams gave RM some parting advice for his career.
“I would just say keep moving forward. Keep being curious. And don't put any pressure on what you're doing by saying... There's nothing absolute like, "Oh, I'll never do music again," "I'll never do..." or "I wouldn't do any of that." No never. Just keep going,” he told the BTS leader.
