Billie Eilish has denied "singling out" Taylor Swift when she criticised artists who release multiple variations of the same album.
The Happier Than Ever singer published a statement on her Instagram Stories on Sunday insisting that most artists release multiple versions of the same album to encourage fans to buy them all and boost their sales figures.
"Okay so it would be so awesome if people would stop putting words into my mouth and actually read what I said in that billboard article. I wasn't singling anyone out, these are industry-wide systemic issues," she wrote, before acknowledging that she does it too.

ABBA are reportedly poised to ink a multi-million-dollar deal to bring 'ABBA Voyage' to Las Vegas.
The Swedish pop icons are said to be working with Resorts World to bring their hugely popular avatar show that currently takes place at the custom-built ABBA Arena in London to Sin City.
A source told the Daily Star newspaper: "ABBA has been secretly in talks for a while about getting a deal in Vegas.
"The music of Abba is well liked in the US.
"And the unique selling point of avatars makes it more than an ABBA show as the spectacular is something that could well wow audiences."

On Tuesday, it was announced that the music superstar had made Forbes' annual billionaires list for the first time, with an estimated fortune of $1.1 billion (£875 million).
