On Monday (02/08) the Canadian R&B artist announced the start of the next page in his triumphant course by publishing an enigmatic excerpt from an unreleased song with a video entitled "The Dawn Is Coming".
A day later, The Weeknd announces that the new chapter of his career will dawn this Friday, August 6, with the release of a new song entitled "Take My Breath".
The revelation was made through a video of the American television station NBC for the American Women's Athletics Team that is currently participating in the Tokyo Olympics.
The video, starring Sydney McLaughlin, Dalilah Muhammad, Athing Mu and Gabby Thomas, opens with the confirmation of the release date of "Take My Breath", before a different excerpt of the same song appears in the video "The Dawn Is Coming ».
"Take My Breath" will be The Weeknd 's first song after his masterpiece album "After Hours" which was released in May 2020 and swept the charts around the world.
In an interview with "Variety" last May, The Weeknd came up with the style of his next album, saying: "If the last record is after midnight, then dawn is coming."
