A song from Taylor Swift's 'Lover' album will help you perform CPR on someone in need.
If you're a fan of Taylor Swift, one of the pop star's songs could literally help you save someone's life.
The American Heart Association highlighted the importance of cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) in first aid using a Taylor Swift song as an example.
"If you see a teen or adult collapse, call 911 and then give strong and quick compressions to the center of the chest," the organization explained in a social media post.
The American Heart Association noted that the proper rhythm for performing CPR resembles the rhythm of a song at 100-120 beats per minute.
The example the organization shared was the song "The Man" from Taylor Swift's album "Lover" (2009), which has 110 beats per minute.
Consequently, "The Man" not only detonates the toxic effects of gender inequality, but may also help save a life.
Taylor Swift spoke about the inspiration for "The Man" during an interview with Billboard's "Women In Music" issue in 2019.
"When I go online and hear the stories of my fans talking about their experiences in the world of work, or even in school – the more we talk about it, the better off we'll be," he said.
"And I wanted to make it catchy for some reason," he said of "The Man's" style.
"So that a song about gender inequality sticks in people's minds, sticks in their minds. And for me, this is a good day," he explained.
In the music video for 'The Man', which she directed, Taylor Swift transforms into a toxic and argumentative man voiced by Dwayne 'The Rock' Johnson.
The video for "The Man" examines gender roles, particularly the double standards and stereotypes of men and women.
The focus of the music video is how men can do whatever they want without being criticized and the fact that women are criticized if they deviate from the predetermined social norms.
