Taylor Swift returns to touring after 5 years with 'The Eras Tour'

Taylor Swift's 'The Eras Tour' will kick off in the spring of 2023 from the United States.

Taylor Swift is finally back on tour.

Following the monumental debut of her tenth album 'Midnights' on the charts this week, Taylor Swift announced the US leg of her 'The Eras Tour' on Tuesday 1 November, confirming her first official tour in nearly five years.

The US leg of the 27-concert tour will kick off on March 18, 2023 from State Farm Stadium in Glendale, Arizona, Taylor Swift announced in a video sent to "Good Morning America."

“I've been wanting to tell you something I've been so excited about for a long time. I've been planning it for a long time and finally I can tell you: I'm coming back for a tour," said the singer.

"The tour is called 'The Eras Tour' and it's a journey through all the musical chapters of my career," he added.

After the American leg, which will conclude in August 2023 with two concerts at Sofi Stadium in Los Angeles, the tour is expected to continue "internationally".

Taylor Swift will be joined on her 'The Eras Tour' by a series of rotating opening acts, including Paramore, beabadoobee, Phoebe Bridgers, girl in red, Muna, HAIM, Gayle, Gracie Abrams and Owenn.

"The Eras Tour" is Taylor Swift's first tour since 2018's "Reputation Stadium Tour," which broke the record for the highest-grossing U.S. tour since Billboard Boxscore began tracking tour data in 1990.

The Reputation Stadium Tour, in support of her self-titled album Reputation (2017), grossed $345.7 million and sold over 2.9 million tickets, making it Taylor Swift's biggest tour to date.

In 2020, Taylor Swift was supposed to hold the 'Lover Fest' tour, to promote her 2019 album 'Lover', but her plans were canceled due to the pandemic.

Following the Reputation Stadium Tour, Taylor Swift has released four original albums, 'Lover' (2019), 'Folklore' (2020), 'Evermore' (2020) and 'Midnights' (2022), as well as two new recordings of her earlier albums, 'Fearless (Taylor's Version)' and 'Red (Taylor's Version)' – both in 2021.

This week, Taylor Swift's new album 'Midnights' debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 in the US with 1.578 million sales, a number that is the best performance in the last seven years.

Taylor Swift also made Billboard Hot 100 history by becoming the first artist to dominate all ten of the chart's Top 10 spots in the same week, with "Anti-Hero" debuting at No. 1 and giving her the ninth lead of her career
