Taylor Swift: 'Midnights' Has Over 1 Billion Streams Worldwide In One Week

Taylor Swift's 'Midnights' is the most streamed album worldwide in one week in 2022.

Taylor Swift's new album 'Midnights' collected more than 1 billion streams worldwide within one week.

Hours after the release of the standard edition of the album, which contains 13 songs, Taylor Swift revealed the "3am Edition" which includes seven additional songs, bringing the total number of songs of "Midnights" to 20.

All 20 songs from 'Midnights' entered the Billboard Global 200 and Billboard Global Excl. US, two charts that record the songs' worldwide performance, including and excluding the US, respectively.

Every song from the expanded '3am Edition' of 'Midnights' appeared in the Top 40 of the Billboard Global 200 and the first half of the Billboard Global Excl. US, with "Anti-Hero" charting at No. 1 on both charts.

The 20 songs on Taylor Swift's new album "Midnights" garnered 1.16 billion streams worldwide and 211,000 downloads in the week ending Oct. 27, according to Luminate.

'Midnights' is the album with the most streams worldwide in a single week in 2022, surpassing the 1.06 billion streams Bad Bunny's 'Un Verano Sin Ti' received in its first week of release in May.

The 13 songs on the standard edition of 'Midnights' have garnered 973 million streams worldwide, accounting for 84% of the album's total streaming numbers despite accounting for 65% of the total tracklist.

The standard edition songs recorded an average of 75 million streams worldwide, compared to 26 million streams for the "3am Edition" songs.

While songs on the standard edition of Taylor Swift's new 'Midnights' album scored almost three times as many streams worldwide as their '3am Edition' counterparts, the opposite was true in terms of sales.

The seven bonus tracks totaled 138,000 downloads worldwide, while the standard edition's 13 songs achieved 73,000 downloads, as many consumers likely purchased the original edition in its entirety and proceeded to purchase the seven bonus tracks à la carte, activity mirrored on Digital Song Sales Chart based on US.

A total of 94 songs by Taylor Swift have appeared on the Global 200 since the chart's inception in September 2020. The pop star leads all artists in the relevant ranking, followed by Lil Baby (69), Drake (61), Lil Durk (55) and Bad Bunny (52).

Taylor Swift also holds the record for Global Excl. US with 75 songs and ahead of Bad Bunny and Drake, who have 52 songs each.

This week, Taylor Swift's new album 'Midnights' debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 in the US with 1.578 million sales, a number that is the best performance in the last seven years.

Taylor Swift also made Billboard Hot 100 history by becoming the first artist to dominate all ten of the chart's Top 10 spots in the same week, with "Anti-Hero" debuting at No. 1 and giving her the ninth lead of her career.
