Australian pop-rock singer Sam Fischer collaborates with American pop star Demi Lovato on the single "What Other People Say".
After the huge success he had with the single "The City", which was included in the EP "Homework", Sam Fischer returns with a song that he always knew would be a duet. Working with Demi Lovato, however, was a pleasant surprise.
Sam Fischer wrote "What Other People Say" before "This City" was even successful. The song describes the feeling of loneliness and the need not to disappoint the people around you.
The duo uses two different lives and perspectives and unites them to create a common message. The result is a very special song with a dynamic refrain full of emotions.
Sam Fischer said: "'What Other People Say' is a confession, an awareness of how far you can go in trying to please yourself. He talks about the pressure of society and how when you deal with the wrong things you can become a different person. "
"This song is a representation of what it's like to lose what you really are in an effort to please people and society," adds Demi Lovato.
"That's why I wanted to work on this project with Sam. "In essence, he is talking about two people who come together to find solutions to their problems," he explains.
Along with the release of "What Other People Say", Sam Fischer was selected by YouTube as the first "Artist On The Rise" for 2021.
Other artists selected in the past include Mabel, Aitch, Freya Ridings, Mahalia, Beabadoobee and Celeste.
