Prince William talks for the first time about his famous coexistence with Taylor Swift and Jon Bon Jovi over the microphone and admits that he "got up like a puppy" when the singer invited him to go on stage.
In 2013, a member of the British royal family took the stage with Taylor Swift during a Centrepoint charity event at Kensington Palace to collaborate with Jon Bon Jovi on a rendition of "Livin 'On A Prayer".
His associates then described that he was completely "out of mood". Now, eight years later, William reveals how he lived this memorable moment in a special Christmas episode of Apple Fitness + 's "Time to Walk" series, which premieres on December 6.
"Well, it must have been almost ten years ago, I can not believe I am telling this story. I went to a charity gala for Centrepoint, which is a charity for the young homeless, which I really like and have been supporting for many years. "It's an annual fundraiser, and when I go, Jon Bon Jovi and Taylor Swift are at the event, which almost leaves me speechless," said Prince William.
"When I sat down to watch Jon Bon Jovi show up, I thought, 'That was it. My job is over. I will have dinner soon and maybe I can talk to some people and I am out of work for a while now ". "I did not imagine what was going to happen next."
"I am sitting next to Taylor Swift. It's on my left. And after Jon sings his first song, he pauses and she turns to me. She puts her hand on my arm, looks me in the eye and says, “Come on, William. "Let's go sing," he recalls.
"I still do not know what caught me. Honestly, even now I shudder at what happened next and do not understand why I gave up. But, honestly, if Taylor Swift looks you in the eye, she touches your hand and says "come with me…". I got up like a puppy and said, “Yeah, okay, that's a very good idea. I will follow you ", he adds.

I went on stage in a hypnotic state and then, about halfway through Jon Bon Jovi's "Livin 'On a Prayer", I woke up. And I think: "Do I stand on stage and sing 'Livin' On a Prayer 'while I do not even know the lyrics?". "But the young Centrepoint boys and girls were there and everyone loved it and cheered," said Prince Williams.
"So I thought, 'Well, if they're enjoying it, then the night is for them. So let's go for good. "I can not be the idiot who will spoil it for everyone." And so I try desperately to remember some of the words and sing as loud as I can. Under my black tie, I was sweating a lot. "I felt like a swan, where on the outside I was trying to keep my composure, but inside my legs were paddling fast," he stressed.
Prince William later confessed that despite his experience in front of the crowd, he was not prepared to show off his vocal skills.
"Now, a lot of people may think I'm comfortable on stage. When I make speeches and things like that, I've done so much now that it's not a problem. But I have not tried to sing. "Sometimes, when you get out of your comfort zone, you have to adjust to it."
"And I think we have reached the stage in this life where we are managing ourselves. We are worried about how we will look on social media. Who said what about me? What am I wearing? "There is so much pressure, but I think it is good to make fun of ourselves."
"It is good not to take yourself too seriously and to have those moments when you leave and say: 'Do you know something? "I'm fine with that." So, yes, go ahead and laugh. And do not go and watch the video I sing. "Or go and see it, but just laugh at yourself for how I felt."
Earlier this year, Prince Willam partnered with Apple Fitness + to record one of the service's most inspiring audio walking experiences, featuring personal stories from influential people that aim to inspire users to walk more. Williams himself approached Apple to get involved, as he was impressed by "Time to Walk" and the way it coincided with his efforts to promote better mental health and well-being.
