Olivia Rodrigo is preparing her long-awaited comeback.
After taking the internet by storm by posting a mysterious photo with a calendar marked June 30, Olivia Rodrigo excited her fans by sending them an email announcing the start of a countdown to the same date.
The same enigmatic countdown, which ends on Friday, June 30, has also been posted on the main page of Olivia Rodrigo's official website.
On Saturday, June 3, Olivia Rodrigo fans also noticed that the video that appears on Spotify when you listen to "Drivers License" has been updated to feature a driver's license that expires on June 30, 2023.
In the same vein, Olivia Rodrigo added to her online store a t-shirt with a photo of a driver's license that similarly expires on June 30.
Olivia Rodrigo hasn't revealed what will happen when the countdown ends on Friday, June 30, but she's been talking about her next album for a while after her hugely successful debut 'Sour', which was released in May 2021.
In January, the 20-year-old singer confirmed that she was back in the studio with her producer Dan Nigro, with whom she also worked on 'Sour'.
“I've been working on so many new songs that I'm excited to show you. Thank you for everything," she wrote in a social media post at the time.
In May, Olivia Rodrigo revealed that her sophomore album "is very, very, very, very close to being done," without sharing more details about her plans.
Olivia Rodrigo hasn't released music since 'Sour', which has racked up over 9.5 billion on Spotify to date with hits including 'Drivers License', 'Good 4 U', 'Deja Vu', 'Traitor' and "Brutal" and earned the young pop star three Grammy Awards.
