Matteo Bocelli sings a song written by Ed Sheeran and his brother.
Matteo Bocelli releases his new single 'Chasing Stars'.
This sweeping ballad, written by Ed Sheeran and his brother Matthew Sheeran, showcases Matteo Bocelli's vocal range to the fullest.
"When I was younger, my dad was my hero / He let me climb on his shoulders, we sang to the moon," Matteo sings at the beginning of the song, telling the story of a father who encourages his son to "be who he is ».
Ed Sheeran recalls: “Chasing Stars was written by me and my brother Matthew about our dad and how he supported our music when we were younger. I love the final version with Matteo, he is so talented. I hope everyone else enjoys it!”
Matteo Bocelli strongly identified with the song's messages about family and self-discovery.
"Like the Sheeran brothers, I grew up in a family where music was highly valued," says Matteo Bocelli, who has performed on some of the world's biggest stages with his father, the renowned tenor Andrea Bocelli.
“Ed and Matthew wrote the song, but I feel like they wrote it for me. I feel really privileged to be the first to record it,” he added.
"Chasing Stars" was produced by PARISI (Ed Sheeran, Fred Again).
Matteo Bocelli meets his musical muses in the music video for 'Chasing Stars', shot on beautiful Jamaica Beach on Lake Garda, Italy's largest lake, directed by Gaetano Morbioli.
Morbioli collaborated with Matteo and Andrea Bocelli again in 2018 on the video for their heartwarming duet about the relationship between father and son, 'Fall On Me', which has garnered over 400 million streams worldwide to date.
'Chasing Stars' will be included on the 25-year-old singer-songwriter's debut album 'Matteo'.
As the son and occasional collaborator of Andrea Bocelli, Matteo has been nurtured with a distinct musical education and has an endlessly curious nature, which is on full display in 'Matteo', a bold step into his own spotlight.
The album will contain 12 songs and will be released by Capitol Records on September 22, highlighting all aspects of his artistry with a mix of songs in English and Italian.
Following his wildly successful sold-out concerts in California this summer, Matteo Bocelli will embark on his first world tour on September 30 from Berlin, Germany.
As part of the tour, he will travel to 12 countries, including the US and the Middle East.
