Jennifer Gray has revealed that Madonna's song "Express Yourself" refers to her breakup with fellow actress Matthew Broderick in the late 1980s.
In an interview with People, the "Dirty Dancing" star recalled that Madonna, her close friend and co-star in "Bloodhounds of Broadway," had her listen to a 1989 car song in a car. and told her that the inspiration for the lyrics was her personal life.
"She made me hear it in her car," said Jennifer Gray.
