Lil Nas X: Announces new single "Sun Goes Down"

After Lil Nas X returned to the top of the charts with Montero (Call Me By Your Name), he is preparing to continue his dominance with another single.

The 22-year-old singer and rapper referred to the new single "Sun Goes Down" and the music video that will accompany it through social media.

"In the video for 'Sun Goes Down' I go back in time to visit a newer version of myself struggling in that he hates himself and does not want to live anymore," he wrote.

"I try my best to animate him. I look forward to sharing this song and video with you. "It's really special to me."

"Sun Goes Down" will be released on Friday, May 21 and is available for pre-save here.

A day later, on Saturday, May 22, Lil Nas X will appear for the first time on "Saturday Night Live".

At the same time, Lil Nas X, who is one of the most successful openly gay music stars of recent years, seems to be preparing something special for Pride Month, which is celebrated in June.

"I want to do something special for the gay month (sic) in a few weeks," he wrote on Twitter, without sharing further details.

Lil Nas X often talks about his sexual identity both through his music and in his interviews and now he does it without fear of alienating his straight fans, as he recently stated.
