Katy Perry has written "a lot of music" inspired by the unconditional love of motherhood.
As her Las Vegas shows come to a close, Katy Perry spoke to 'Good Morning America' on Friday, August 4 about the success of her show and her plans for new music.
"I will always remember that joy of community and family and camaraderie... It was a bunch of strangers under one roof singing the same song," he said.
"There is an energy that is wonderful. I will never forget that action. I will never forget the joy. I will never forget the happiness," he added.
In August 2020, about a year and a half before she began her 'Play' shows, Katy Perry gave birth to her first child with actor Orlando Bloom, a baby girl named Daisy Dove.
Two days after giving birth to Daisy, Katy Perry released her latest album 'Smile'.
As fans anxiously await her new record, Katy Perry has confirmed that she is writing new music and revealed that she is inspired by her experience of motherhood.
“I haven't released any new material since my beloved Daisy. I think I write a lot, and I've written a lot from a source of love, because I feel it so much – so much unconditional love, the love you never knew existed," she emphasized.
"I'm always writing, I've always been writing, but I think what's really important to me is celebrating the world I get to build with all these great songs and being in charge of a 3-year-old's life," she continued.
"I'll be back, but I want to do it right," added the 38-year-old singer.
Katy Perry kicked off her 'Play' shows at Resorts World in Las Vegas in December 2021, and by the time she drops the curtain on November 4, she will have performed over 50 concerts and 10 leg of shows.
"I know how important it is to some people," she commented, referring to the fact that Las Vegas shows are usually different from classic tours because fans not only spend their "hard-earned money" but also "plan their vacations with occasion" her concerts.
"I am so grateful for the continued opportunity to grow as an artist, as a person, as a mother, and to continue to bring joy to people's lives through art, entertainment and visual media," added Katy Perry.
