Jonas Brothers: "The sound we follow is truly unique"

Jonas Brothers talk about their new music and the "unique" sound they have created.

It has been three years since they reunited and released No. 1 album of "Happiness Begins" of 2019, but the Jonas Brothers reveal in a new interview with "People" that they have been preparing music for quite some time.

"We all have families and live in different places," said Nick Jonas, who lives in Los Angeles with his wife Priyanka Chopra and their baby girl Malti, who was born in January.

"We are in a better position than ever before, and it is a really fun time to find out what the next chapter will be like," he added.

The members of Jonas Brothers have long found freedom and peace both within the band and as individuals.

In 2013, the Jonas Brothers shocked their fans when they canceled their scheduled tour two days before the start and announced that they were disbanding, citing a "deep rift" within the band.

"Over the years, you start to take advantage of the relationship (between siblings) because it is a safe place. "You feel like you can say anything, and that can be detrimental," comments Joe Jonas.

During their six-year breakup, Nick Jonas embarked on a successful solo career, Joe Jonas formed the pop-rock band DNCE (they recently released "Move" their first official single in four years) and Kevin , who became a father in 2014, focused on his family and started a construction company.

"It allowed us to understand who we were as humans," says Kevin Jonas of the difficult but ultimately crucial period in his life.

And of course the Jonas Brothers, who recently completed their appearances in Las Vegas, have returned to the studio.

"We recorded a lot of music before and during the pandemic, but then we lived our lives for a while. "We write together, so you edit it with your siblings, which is useful," reveals Kevin.

And while they have been a band for almost 20 years, "it's one of our favorite things to do," Nick says of their new music. "It's easy to repeat creative old patterns, but the sound we approach is really unique to us," he continues.

In the end, "as simple as it sounds, we could have stopped this a long time ago," Joe notes, adding: "But we decided to continue, and that means so much to us in our hearts."
