"I could not sing because of the pain I was feeling."
Jessie J talks for the first time about the health problem that affects her ability to do what she likes best, to sing.
In a video she posted on Instagram, the 33-year-old British singer bent down gently singing a part of her new single "I Want Love" to her speech therapist, while describing the painful problem in her throat that forced her to take a break from singing.
"The first song I sang was 'I Want Love,'" he wrote in the caption of the selfie video.
"It brought me to tears to hear myself sing it and to feel so vulnerable while singing. Never, until today (since I recorded it) could I sing it because of the pain I felt. "Dude, it's hard not to sing," he continued.
"It's literally my lifeline and my happiness. Being quiet is not something I am good at. Or make me feel like I am myself. God knows how noisy I am. "I needed to be honest with you about where I was and explain what was going on. To be completely true, to have your support and love to help me get through this faster, I'm sure."

In December 2020, Jessie J was hospitalized with symptoms of Meniere's disease, which left her temporarily deaf while she was also unable to walk.
Meniere's disease is an idiopathic disease of the inner ear characterized by episodes of vertigo, fluctuating hearing loss, tinnitus and a feeling of fullness. It can occur at any age, but typically occurs in the fifth decade of life.
Jessie J revealed in the stories of her Instagram account that after the disease she started to face other health problems.
"In February I started to feel a burning sensation in my throat constantly. I ignored it for a while as I assumed it was fatigue from the studio. "When I went to see a doctor, he told me I had major gastroesophageal reflux disease and nodules because I continued to sing with reflux, which was probably caused by the steroids I took for my ear last year," he described.
After months of visits to doctors and various treatments, "I still have pain every day," he wrote.
"With rest and a little talk / song, the nodules melted. Like Olaf (ss. The cartoon character from "Frozen") in the sun. "But every doctor told me if I sing (especially these songs) the nodules will come back immediately," he pointed out.
