Ed Sheeran's new phone has only the basic features.
Ed Sheeran bought a new cell phone four years after he decided to abandon his previous device.
The 30-year-old pop star revealed that he bought a Nokia 3310, worth just 60 pounds, so that he can communicate with the British National Health System (NHS) while traveling in the midst of the COVID-19 pandemic.
"I promote abroad and then I enter quarantine. The government is calling you, but I did not have a phone to call. They were really watching me. "I think they were trying to catch me," he said in an appearance on Jessie Ware's "Table Manners" podcast.
Ed Sheeran actually received a phone call from the British Health Service within half an hour of leaving his home.
"I do not know if they have detection via GPRS, but we quarantined and on the fifth day I went out and then they called and said 'you left your house,'" he described.

Ed Sheeran followed the British five-day quarantine program, which allows international travelers to end quarantine on the fifth day with a negative private molecular (PCR) coronavirus test.
However, he is still unsure how the government services learned so quickly that he had left home.
"I do not know if my neighbors called. "But basically I got the green light with an email that simply said, 'Are you ready to leave?' So I left and within half an hour they said, 'Why did you leave?'" He said.
Ed Sheeran also revealed that his new mobile phone has only the basic features and does not have the ability to download social networking applications.
In fact, he does not know the password of his TikTok account and he just creates the videos for their affiliates to post on the platform.
"I do not know the password for my TikTok. "They tell me to make this video and then I guess it goes up," he said.
