Dua Lipa and Romain Gavras were spotted holding hands and looking perfectly happy at the Cannes Film Festival.
Dua Lipa and the son of Greek-French director Costas Gavras. Romain Gavras, made their first public appearance as a couple at the Cannes Film Festival on Friday, May 19.
The 27-year-old singer and the 41-year-old music video director embraced as they posed for photographers and looked absolutely happy on the carpet as they held hands, laughed and looked at each other lovingly.
Dua Lipa wowed in a one-shoulder dress that featured cutouts on the chest and back, as well as a thigh-high slit, while Romain Gavras was dapper in a classic black suit.
The couple attended the screening of Elias Belkeddar's Omar La Fraise (The King of Algiers) at the Cannes Film Festival.
Dua Lipa and Romain Gavras were first spotted together in February as they left a party in London.
A little later, the camera captured them holding hands during Paris Fashion Week.
Dua Lipa's last known relationship was with model Anwar Hadid, with whom she split in December 2021.
In October 2022, Dua Lipa stated on her podcast that she had been single "for a long time".
“For me, this is the first year that I haven't been in a relationship for a long time. It was really great to be by myself and just think about myself and be kind of quite selfish, which I've never had the chance to do,” she said.
“But when you find someone who really softens and calms you down… it makes all the difference!” she continued.
However, a source claimed in March that Dua Lipa and Romain Gavras had been "quietly trying to get together for months" following the singer's split from Anwar Hadid.
"Dua and Romain have been quietly trying to date for several months," a source told The Sun at the time.
“They enjoy spending time together. They met each other's inner circle over the festive season and have a lot in common," he continued.
“Dua knows how important it is to find someone who understands her industry. It feels like Romain totally gets it. They're both really creative people," the source said.
Dua Lipa confirmed her relationship with Romain Gavras on social media as well, posting several snaps from her stay in Cannes on Saturday (20/05), including a photo with her new partner, writing in French in the caption of her post: "Last night in Cannes with my heart."
