Smiley belongs to the staff of Drake's record company.
Toronto-based rapper Smiley is releasing a new song called "Over The Top" in which he joins forces with hip-hop music star Drake.
Produced by Tay Keith, "Over The Top" is available digitally from Drake's record company, OVO Sound.
Drake had previously said that Smiley was an inspiration to him, revealing through his personal Instagram account that he listened to the rapper's "Buy.or.Buy" EP while creating his own album "Scorpion".
Also one day after announcing that he was one of the artists with the nominations for the Grammy Awards 2019, Drake posted on social media a video in which he was in a pool and had a drink while listening to the introduction from the mixtape "A Tape to Remember »by Smiley.
"Over The Top" is expected to be included in the new project prepared by Smiley.
Although this is the first music meeting of the two rappers that is officially released, in fact they had collaborated again on the song "Organization" by Smiley that leaked and was finally released without the participation of Drake.
"I had a couplet from the boy and it leaked. "He sent me a new one and told me to use it," Smiley said during "Over The Top."
"Over The Top" is Drake 's second appearance on another artist' s song this month, following his appearance on Brent Faiyaz 's "Wasting Time" in early July.
All this while the new album "Certified Lover Boy" is expected to be released sometime before the end of the summer.
