Celine Dion: Sony Music is preparing a movie for its amazing career

Celine Dion will be the subject of a new documentary.

Sony Music Entertainment Premium Content, in partnership with SME Canada and Vermilion Films, has announced the launch of the feature film, which will focus on the good and bad moments of Celine Dion's amazing career.

Over the course of her 40-year career, the Canadian singer has won five Grammy Awards and an Oscar for "My Heart Will Go On", the song from the movie "Titanic", and has recorded sales of over 250 million records worldwide.

The film is directed by Oscar nominee Irene Taylor, who has edited the documentaries "Hear and Now" and "The Final Inch".

"I have always been an open book with my fans and with sensitivity and careful creativity, I think Irene will be able to show everyone a piece of me that they have never seen before. "I know she will tell my story in the most honest and moving way," said Celine Dion.

"This journey with a legendary artist like Celine Dion is a great opportunity for me as a director. "Access to the examination of her life and her unique career will allow me to create a multifaceted portrait of an iconic, global superstar, whom I look forward to sharing with the world," added Irene Taylor.

"Celine Dion is one of the most sought after artists of all time. "We are honored to work with her to produce this highly anticipated documentary," said Tom Mackay, president of Sony Music Entertainment's Premium Content arm.

"Guided by Irene Taylor's incredible artistic vision, we look forward to honoring Dion's life achievements and designing a distribution strategy to reach her fans around the world," he continued.

The Sony Music Entertainment documentary is not the only film about the life and career of the 53-year-old singer in the works.

"Aline", a fictional biographical film inspired by Celine's life that debuted at the Cannes Film Festival, will hit theaters in early 2022.

Directed by Valérie Lemercier, who also appears in the eponymous role of Aline Dieu, a character inspired by Dion.

The film, which has been described as a "love letter to Celine", begins in Quebec in the 1960s where a producer discovers Aline's amazing singing talent and vows to make her a star.
