Spotify celebrates with artists the songs that have reached one billion streams on its platform.
Billie Eilish, Post Malone and Bad Bunny are the first artists to join Spotify's new 'Billions Club: The Series' web series.
In the series, each artist will have the opportunity to choose how to celebrate their songs reaching one billion streams on the platform, using Spotify's signature Billions plaque.
"Billions Club: The Series" will be available on Today's Top Hits Instagram and TikTok.
“Spotify's Billions Club was first created as a celebration of the artistry and cultural impact of incredible songs. "Billions Club: The Series" will take that to the next level," Ashley Graver, the platform's head of collaborations with pop, dance and indie artists, told People exclusively.
The series was shot and produced by OBB Pictures, the film, television and digital division of OBB Media, directed by OBB CEO Michael D. Ratner.
The 'Billions Club: The Series' teaser gives a taste of how Billie Eilish, Post Malone and Bad Bunny are celebrating their success.
"How can I believe a billion people have heard this song," says Billie Eilish, while Bad Bunny adds: "Well, we're here to celebrate the success of my music on Spotify."
Post Malone comments: “It feels really good that this song is connecting with the world. And I'm just glad that I can bring some joy into someone's life if I can."
The screen then fades to black and the phrases 'big songs', 'biggest artists' and 'billions of streams' appear in large letters.
While a release date for the first episode of the series has yet to be announced, the teaser ends with the words "coming soon."
"Our goal at Spotify has always been to bring fans closer to the music and artists they love," continued Ashley Graver.
“OBB, who shot and directed the series, perfectly captured the euphoria of each artist as they celebrated their milestones in their own unique way. We look forward to seeing the response to the series and for listeners around the world to share the joy that music brings,” he added.
The series is an extension of the Billions Club, a playlist first launched in 2020 featuring every song on Spotify that has reached one billion streams on the platform.
For every song that breaks the barrier of one billion streams, Spotify awards artists with the Billions Club plaque.
