Ariana Grande has addressed the most difficult period of her life in response to "concerns" about her body.
Ariana Grande is speaking out about her health and body changes after fans expressed "concern" about her weight and image.
In a revealing video she posted on TikTok, Ariana Grande asked her fans to be more careful when talking about other people's bodies, revealing that she had the body type that fans are now comparing her to when she was struggling more.
"I think we could be, I think we should be kinder and less comfortable commenting on people's bodies, whatever," the singer said, opening the video.
“If you think you're saying something good or well-intentioned, whatever it is – healthy, unhealthy, big, small, this, that, sexy, not sexy – we just shouldn't do it. We should really work towards not doing that so much," he noted.
"There are ways to compliment someone or ignore something you see that you don't like, and I think we need to help each other work in that direction," he added. "Just trying to be safer and keep each other safer," he said.
Ariana Grande continued her three-minute video by pointing out that "there are many different kinds of beauty, there are many different ways to look healthy and beautiful."
"For me personally, the body you're comparing my current body to was the most unhealthy version of my body," she revealed.
"I was on a lot of anti-depressants and I was drinking on them, I was eating badly and I was in the worst phase of my life when I looked like what you would consider 'my healthy body' but it really wasn't my healthy body," she confessed.
Although Ariana Grande believes she "shouldn't have to explain this," she did so because she felt her "honesty" and "vulnerability" could allow "something good" to come out of this situation.
The pop star emphasized that "health can look different" to different people and then urged people to be "kind to each other and to yourselves."
"You never know what someone is going through, so even if you want to show love and care, that person is probably struggling with it or has a support system they're struggling with," she said.
Ariana Grande ended her message with an encouraging message for her fans.
“You are beautiful, no matter what stage you are in… No matter what your weight is, no matter how you like to wear your makeup these days, no matter what cosmetic procedures you've had or not, or whatever. I just think you're beautiful and wanted to share some thoughts,” she said.
Ariana Grande has been open about her struggles with anxiety and depression in the past.
In 2019, she shared in an Instagram post that her anxiety and depression were at an "absolute zenith" when she canceled meet and greets with fans during her "Sweetener" world tour.
In 2021, she made an emotional post for Mental Health Awareness Month, stating that "treatment is not linear, fun, quick or easy at all."
Ariana Grande also revealed in 2018 that she was diagnosed with post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) following the 2017 Manchester concert bombing that killed 22 people.
