Taylor Swift set numerous records with her album 'Speak Now (Taylor's Version)'.
"Speak Now (Taylor's Version)" debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard 200, the best-selling album of the year so far for any release, and is also one of four Taylor Swift albums currently in the Top 10 on the chart.
On this week's chart, 'Speak Now (Taylor's Version)' is followed by 'Midnights' (No. 5), 'Lover' (No. 7) and 'Folklore' (No. 10).
According to Billboard, Taylor Swift is the first female artist in the chart's 60-year history to have four albums simultaneously in the Top 10 and is one of only three artists in history to accomplish the feat.
The record was first set by Herb Alpert on April 2, 1966, when his albums 'Going Places' (No. 2), 'Whipped Cream & Other Delights' (No. 3), 'South of the Border' (No. 9) and 'The Lonely Bull' (No. 10) all entered the Top 10.
After Prince's death in 2016, five of his albums appeared in the Top 10 of the Billboard 200.
That week, Prince dominated the Top 10 with "The Very Best of Prince" (No. 2), the soundtrack to "Purple Rain" (with The Revolution, No. 3), "The Hits/The B-Sides" (No. 4), "Ultimate" (No. 6) and "1999" (No. 7).
Taylor Swift is also the only female artist to have four Top 10 albums since the Billboard 200 merged the previously separate mono and stereo album charts into a single ranking in August 1963.
With the debut of "Speak Now (Taylor's Version)," Taylor Swift also made history as the female artist with the most No. 1 albums (12) in history, surpassing Barbra Streisand, with whom she previously tied with 11 albums.
Taylor Swift also tied Drake's feat for third of all artists with the most No. 1s. 1 album on the Billboard 200. Only The Beatles (19) and Jay-Z (14) are ahead.
"Speak Now (Taylor's Version)" marked the best debut of Taylor Swift's three previous career albums to date on new recordings, as part of her campaign to re-release all the albums she originally recorded on her former label Big Machine.
According to Luminate, "Speak Now (Taylor's Version)" sold the equivalent of 716,000 albums in the US in its first week of release, with "Red (Taylor's Version)" now in second place with 605,000 sales.
The first album in the series, 'Fearless (Taylor's Version)', had a less impressive debut with 291,000 sales in early 2021, with the lower number partially explained by the fact that the sought-after vinyl version of the album was not yet available at the time of its general release.
However, 'Fearless (Taylor's Version)', like the other two albums, debuted comfortably at No. 1 on the Billboard 200.
