Sia deleted her Twitter account after the controversy over her new movie "Music" and the reactions to the scenes depicting the use of special straps for fixing a character with autism.
On Wednesday (03/02) the movie "Music" received a nomination for Best Picture - Musical or Comedy in the Golden Globes of 2021, while Kate Hudson is also nominated for the award for Best Actress in a Musical or Comedy for her role in the same film.
Following the announcement of the nominations, Sia posted a series of tweets apologizing for the controversial scenes.
"I promise, I hear. "The movie 'Music', going forward, will have this warning at the beginning: '' Music 'in no way accepts or recommends the use of links to people with autism."
In another tweet, Sia added, "I'm sorry," before announcing to followers that the scenes depicting the use of straps would be removed from the movie "Music."
"I intend to remove the scenes from all future copies. "I heard wrong people and that is my responsibility, my research was clearly not thorough enough, not big enough", she continued before deleting her account.
Meanwhile, more than 17,000 people participated in an online collection of signatures for the cancellation of the film due to Sia's choice to give Maddie Ziegler, a close associate, the role of teenager with autism instead of a real person with autism, as well as the use of the phrase "People with disabilities" instead of "people with disabilities" throughout the film.
