Olivia Rodrigo has "the title and a few songs" for her next album

Olivia Rodrigo is preparing to embark on a world tour to promote her debut album, "Sour", but has already begun preparing for her next album.

The young pop star gave an extensive interview on Billboard on the occasion of her recent nomination for "Woman of the Year" for 2022 by the music magazine and her upcoming award at the "Women in Music Awards" of Billboard, which will take place in Los Angeles on March 2.

Although it is only nine months since the release of her first album, Olivia Rodrigo is already thinking enthusiastically about the next page of her career, it seems that she has reached the title that the successor of "Sour" will bring.

"I have the title for my next album and some songs. It is really exciting to think about the next world that will open before me. I really like writing songs. I try not to put too much pressure on myself. "I just want to explore and have fun right now," he revealed.

Once again, Olivia Rodrigo is collaborating with Dan Nigro, with whom she wrote most of "Sour".

"I really like working with Dan. We have such a good cooperation. We always exchange ideas and we have found time to work together in the studio. The "Sour" craze that came out was something that only Dan and I could really identify with, and I think that brought us closer. "I trust him so much and I really enjoy the music we create," he said.

As for the pressure to continue on such a successful album as "Sour", he commented that "it is definitely a different experience to write a second album after a debut that was so well received".

"But I still write a lot of my music in my bedroom and I do not think that experience will change. "Creating songs will hopefully always be a way out for me to process my emotions before anything else," he added.

Olivia Rodrigo also defended her decision not to release deluxe releases, bonus tracks, official remixes or collaborations as part of "Sour", saying it was important for her to let the album stand on its own two feet.

"I chose not to release bonus tracks or special releases because 'Sour' was such a special time in my life and I felt like I wanted to give the songs and the album time to breathe. And yes, I'm excited to create a new chapter in my music. "I really like the way the album stood as a whole," he explained.
As she prepares her second album, Olivia Rodrigo looks forward to a 2022 where female songwriters will have a stronger voice and she says she is excited about the variety seen in pop music today.

"I love the fact that the boundaries in pop music are being removed more and more. "Pop music can mean so many different things, and I really like listening to so many different varieties of it these days."

"I'm also very excited about women songwriters and how honestly and truthfully they speak. This is always a source of inspiration for me. It is so exciting for me to see the voices of young women being heard and recognized and honored as is the case lately. "I look forward to rejoicing in the future, my colleagues and the future generations of women songwriters," she said.

Olivia Rodrigo also said that the most incredible moment of her life was her visit to the White House to meet with US President Joe Biden and to help promote the COVID-19 vaccine in the United States.

"One of the craziest moments of my life was when I went to the White House and met with President Joe Biden and advocated for vaccinations in America. The whole time I was in the White House and I had this incredible experience, I thought I was able to do that because I wrote a lot of songs in my bedroom. "It was really a moment when someone had to bite me to believe it was real," he said.
