Katy Perry: "Motherhood gave me a new perspective on life"

Katy Perry "had never met selfless love" before becoming a mother.

The 36-year-old pop star gave birth to her daughter Daisy, her first child with her fiancé Orlando Bloom, in August 2020 and says in an interview with "Variety" that motherhood gave her a new perspective on life.

"I never really knew what selfless love meant. Obviously my mother feeds her for me, but I did not really live her in the first person until I had my child. "And that was a completely different stage," he said.

"I think I see through the eyes of a child - my life and my art always seem playful - so it's amazing to be able to identify with children even in your 30s. And they still want to keep you company and consider you the funniest adult in the room. "This is simply the greatest gift in the world," he explained.

Katy Perry also stressed that social media presents a "distorted" image of motherhood.

"I think all social media is one-sided. It is a large chamber of antichrists and the real determinant is the algorithm. "I really enjoyed the experience," he said

"I am still 10 kilos heavier than I was in the beginning, but I am not in a hurry. A year has passed. I am more interested in her (her daughter) happiness and my happiness and my mental health. "Hormones are quite interesting," he added.

As a new mother, for the first six weeks you say, "What?" It's just the biggest change in your life. You are responsible for the good health of someone who can not even hold his head high. It is a real change. And it's the best. Everything that is supposed to go away, goes away and a balance is struck. "I like living more in the real world right now."

Katy Perry also revealed that she puts her daughter to listen to a lot of classical music.

"Yes, she likes music, but I make quite specific choices. Right now we like Stevie Wonder and Bill Withers. I play a lot of old soul, a lot of Supremes, a lot of "shake shake shake shake Señora '". "We are entering different moods," he said.

"The other day we went to my gym and they were playing today's pop music and I said, 'Oh my God, this is the first time you've heard music today!'" He continued.

Katy Perry is going to make a series of regular appearances in Las Vegas and she believes that this event will bring a lot of positives to both her music career and her life as a mother.

"It's such a great show. I will do 40 concerts a year. I can see my baby. I can take her to school. I will also be able to do many other things. It's not a world tour, which I will do again sometime, but it is wonderful. In fact, I have never been on the same stage many times, so I think there will be a lot of technical advantages. "
