The name of Harry Styles was included in the discussions about the central evil character in "Dune 2".
Harry Styles was nominated for the role of Feyd-Rautha in Denis Villeneuve's "Dune: Part II".

"Dune", after multiple delays related to the pandemic, was released worldwide in October 2021. The film was the latest adaptation of Frank Herbert's iconic science fiction novel, but only covered the first half. of the book.

After months of rumors about whether the sequel would get the green light or not, the creation of "Dune: Part II" was finally confirmed shortly after the release of the first film, as the success of "Dune" became apparent both in terms of critics as well as commercially.

This character is similar in age to Paul Atreides and is considered to be his main nemesis. He plays an important role in the second half of the story and, among other things, comes into direct confrontation with the young Atreides.

Austin Butler, who starred in "Once Upon A Time In Hollywood," is reportedly in talks to play Feyd-Rautha opposite Timothée Chalamet.

However, the New York Times' Kyle Buchanan claims that Harry Styles was one of the names nominated for the role of Feyd-Rautha. In a Twitter post, Buchanan said, "I know they looked at Harry Styles."

Kyle Buchanan also revealed the news that the name of Tye Sheridan ("Ready Player One") was mentioned in the discussions.

A source close to the play tells "Variety" that Austin Butler is "in the early stages" of his participation in the film.

Butler joins the "Dune" franchise with Florence Pugh, who was announced earlier this week to be in advanced talks to play Princess Irulan.

Some will be surprised by the fact that the name Harry Styles has been part of the discussions, although the singer has been involved in acting for almost half a decade.

Feyd-Rautha would be one of the biggest Harry Styles roles to date, following in the footsteps of Eros in Marvel's "Eternals."
