Harry Styles has pledged to donate more than $ 1 million to reduce gun ownership in the United States.
Together with event producer Live Nation, Harry Styles promised to donate money to the Everytown for Gun Safety's fundraiser in connection with the massacre at a school in Uvalde, Texas earlier this week.
On Tuesday, May 24, an 18-year-old gunman opened fire on Robb Elementary School, killing 19 children and two teachers.
It is the deadliest school attack in the United States since the Sandy Hook Elementary School massacre in 2012 and is the third deadliest school attack in the country's history.
Harry Styles will donate the money to the Everytown for Gun Safety Support Fund, which is the educational, research and legal arm of Everytown for Gun Safety, the largest American firearms prevention organization.
The 28-year-old singer announced that he will work with Live Nation to donate at least $ 1 million of the proceeds of the "Love on Tour 2022" tour in North America to the non-profit organization.
"With all of you, I am utterly devastated by the recent series of mass shootings in America, culminating in the latest incident at Robb Elementary School in Ovalde, Texas," Harry Styles wrote on his Instagram account.
"During our tour of North America, we will work with Everytown, which works to end gun violence, make donations to support their efforts, and share the action they are proposing," he said.
Tickets for all 42 of the North American part of Harry Styles' "Love On Tour 2022" tour have already been sold out.
The North American tour program includes 15 consecutive appearances at New York's Madison Square Garden in August and September and 15 consecutive appearances at Inglewood, California in October and November.
