Ed Sheeran made a surprise appearance Sunday during an outdoor concert by a Boston children's orchestra.
The 32-year-old British singer visited Boston's Tobin Community Center and took the stage with the guys from the Boston Music Project for their performance before his concert at Foxborough's Gillette Stadium later that evening.
Ed Sheeran shared a video of the performance at the community center on his Instagram page.
“Morning off in Boston so I went to surprise this kids band, it was so much fun. Off to the second concert at the stadium now, see you later,” she captioned.
In the video, Ed Sheeran performs his songs 'The Hills of Aberfeldy' and 'Eyes Closed' and tells the children: 'This is so good guys, so good. You are fantastic. Thank you for letting me play with you. I heard you like 'Eyes Closed'.''
The children had already practiced 'Eyes Closed' so they were able to play along with Ed Sheeran, who commented: "I used to play the cello when I was a kid and this reminds me of the stuff I used to play."
One of the children spoke about the experience of performing with Ed Sheeran while holding a signed guitar given to him by the singer.
“I played with Ed Sheeran, that was really cool. Had a great time. And he gave me a very nice guitar and signed it," said the boy.
Ed Sheeran spoke to the Lilliputian musicians he had the chance to perform with and happily posed for photos with them.
He also offered to give everyone tickets to his concert, telling them: “If you all want tickets to tonight's concert, you can all have tickets to tonight's concert. We will accommodate you and your families. yes, come everyone!'
Ed Sheeran ended his video by saying: “It was so cool. I love playing with kids who are getting inspired by music for the first time, it's great. I'm leaving for the second gig at Gillette and I'll see you there.'
