Ed Sheeran says that his dream of working with Elton John is about to become a nightmare.
After announcing the song in November, Ed Sheeran and Elton John released "Merry Christmas" on December 3, and in the accompanying music video they paid tribute to some of the classic Christmas carols released over the years.
However, Ed Sheeran revealed to Zane Lowe and Apple Music that they had a near fatal accident during the shooting of the music video for "Merry Christmas".
"I'm dressed like a sexy Santa Claus and I kick a gift, but the gift had a big metal bell on top of it," he recalled.
"I showed him (to Elton John) the video from this scene today, because we were slowing it down, and the bell went next to his head, he could have had his head. "The terror that went through my body when the bell flew in the air," he continued.
Although the accident left Ed Sheeran slightly upset, he did very well on set: "But dude, the music video is crazy. "We made parodies of old great British music videos that were released at Christmas."
Ed Sheeran flies with "Snowman" in the enjoyable video on an ode to "Stay Another Day" at East 17, while making little angels in the snow and drinking mulled wine.

In fact, the inspiration for the song came from Christmas Day: "I have a vocal note from Christmas Day, last year," said Ed Sheeran.
"Wait, wait. Wait. Pause. "Pause in your big mind," Zane Lowe reacted in surprise, exclaiming, "Did you write a Christmas carol on Christmas day?"
The idea did not seem so strange to Sheeran, who remarked that "it's the day you feel most Christmas."
The host acknowledged the argument, but said: "I think because I somehow expected you not to work on Christmas day, but maybe that's what you're doing."
"I always write songs, there is always a guitar," the 30-year-old singer replied.
