Duran Duran celebrates 40 years with "Anniversary"

Duran Duran share with the audience the third song from their upcoming album entitled "Future Past".

"Anniversary" is at the same time a landmark song as it celebrates 40 years of presence on the discography and on stage.

Combined with a visualizer, the song opens with their distinctive new wave sound, a barrage of synthesizers and guitars, before Simon Le Bon appears to sing: "Come celebrate this union / Come saints and liberated."

Bassist John Taylor comments: "" Anniversary "is a special song for us. "Obviously we were aware of the impending 40th anniversary of the creation of music together, but we wanted the meaning of the song to be comprehensive in the widest possible way."

"After playing and working together for so long, we really appreciate what 'being together' and 'staying together' really mean, not something we'd think was worth singing about 40 years ago, but we do today! ", he explains.

"It was also fun to add hidden references to Duran Duran's previous hits to the song for fans to discover," he adds.

"Anniversary" is followed by "Invisible" and "More Joy", which featured the Japanese women's band CHAI and Graham Coxon of Blur.

Duran Duran's new album "Future Past" will be released by BMG on October 22.
