Cardi B has recorded 50 songs for her new album

Cardi B gave an interview to Zane Lowe of Apple Music on the occasion of the release of the new single "Up".

During the discussion, the rapper talked about her initial plans to release her second album in 2020, a strategy that eventually changed because she wanted to ensure that she had the "right songs".

"I really wanted to release an album last year, but I felt like I didn't have the right songs," he told Lowe.

"I have recorded so many songs. I think I have recorded 50 songs and I am still not satisfied. If I'm not happy, I'm just not happy, but I really want to release an album this year. "I feel I have no other choice now," he revealed.

"Now I feel I have exceeded my limit. I just have to stop being afraid. Music is at a different stage right now. Sometimes I do not even know what the basis of my album should be. "I just feel dissatisfied because the expectations are so high."

Cardi B has stated that it currently has three possible entries for the successor to "Invasion Of Privacy". He also noted the difficulty of designing a release program and promoting a new album, especially in terms of a tour, given the uncertainty that still determines the fate of live music.

"You want to tour after releasing your album. You hear different dates. When it all opens in 2022, everyone will want to tour, so you have to wait your turn. "I do not want it to take almost nine, eight months for my turn to come," he said.

"You have to compete for your turn with the stadiums and the sports and the other artists who are going to tour. "It's just a lot," he noted.

Later, the rapper stressed that at the moment he feels the need for "eight more songs". The writing, he added, has changed due to the fact that no one today has the same life he had before the pandemic.

"It's hard to make music when nothing happens. We do nothing. Can I rap for something? You are really not doing anything. And I'm not a person who likes to talk about his personal feelings. "I do not like to rap for the moments very sad", he described.
