Camila Cabello needed psychotherapy after her separation from Shawn Mendes.
The 25-year-old singer, who has been in a relationship with her 23-year-old colleague for more than two years - until November 2021, felt unable to work after the separation due to her "stress" and had to learn how to be "honest" with herself while recording her new album.
"There was a time when my anxiety was so bad that I said, 'I do not feel like I can go into the studio. I do not feel that I can work. I do not know". "And so the only way I could go to work every day was to be honest and be myself," he told the Daily Pop! of E! News.
"And if I did not go to work and just expected to feel better before I did that, it's just a feeling that paralyzes you," he continued.
Camila Cabello, who released her third solo album, "Familia", on April 8, later explained that her life was so "bad and painful" after the separation that she would do anything to feel better.
My life was so bad and so painful that I said, "If you tell me that eating s *** off the ground will make me feel better, I will." I used to say: “Yes, of course, psychotherapy. "Everything," he described.
"I felt so vulnerable. It was so hard to talk (about separation). "It was the first time I had talked about these things that I had only talked about to my mother and my psychologist," he admitted.
"You will reach a point where it is your only choice. "Look for this feeling, because that is when something intervenes and helps", he stressed.
Camila Cabello also revealed on "PEOPLE (The TV Show!)" That when she started the process of creating her third album, she was not in good shape.
"I was paralyzed and my mental health was at its worst. And then I took a break at the beginning of the pandemic. "I started doing psychotherapy and trying to feel better," he said.
For Camila, the fact that she sought help meant that she had to remain consistent with herself, no matter what.
"For me, if this process does not help me feel better and if I am not honest and vulnerable and unfiltered, I do not really understand how this will be done," he said.
"That was my intention, to be myself, whatever that was at the time," he said.
