The shocking photos of Bebe Rexha's injury – The singer was taken to the hospital

The spectator who hurled a cellphone at Bebe Rexha, injuring the singer during her concert in New York City on Sunday night (06/18) has been arrested.

New York City police rushed to the scene and arrested Nicolas Malvagna, 27, of Manalapan, New Jersey, as a suspect in the attack, ABC7NY reported.

Malvagna was charged with felony assault in connection with the incident at The Rooftop at Pier 17, because the phone was used as a weapon.

Shocking footage captured by concertgoers shows a phone being thrown from the crowd and hitting Bebe Rexha in the face.

Bebe Rexha walked away from the audience and fell to her knees in pain, while members of her crew rushed to the stage to help her.

The concert was cut short and Bebe Rexha was treated by medical staff at the concert venue. She was then taken to a hospital, where she reportedly received multiple stitches.

In another video posted online by a concertgoer, the man who allegedly threw the phone can be seen being led away from the venue by security.

The following day, Bebe Rexha informed her fans that she was not seriously injured, without commenting on the incident.

The 33-year-old singer took to Instagram on Monday (19/06) to post a photo of her injury, in which she appears to have a huge bruise over her left eye, as well as bandages covering several of the stitches she had along her eyebrow.

"I'm fine," she captioned her post, reassuring fans and those worried about her injury.

Bebe Rexha posted a second photo without her bandages, showing the wound she had sustained under her eyelid, which was still covered in bright makeup from her appearance in New York.

Bebe Rexha's fans immediately flooded the comments of her post with messages of support.

Among them many famous people, such as Demi Lovato, who wrote: “I love you girl. I'm so sorry this happened to you."
