As quickly as she entered the world of 'Wicked', Ariana Grande is already preparing to say goodbye.
Filming for the two-part film adaptation of the hit Broadway musical is halfway through. The first part is scheduled for release in November 2024 and the second film will follow in December 2025.
However, Ariana Grande, who will star in "Wicked" alongside Cynthia Erivo, is not ready to leave the world of Oz just yet.
“I am enjoying every millisecond I have left with my Glinda (although she will be with me irrevocably, forever). He shows me so many new things every day,” the 29-year-old singer wrote in a lengthy Instagram post about her dream role alongside.
Ariana Grande posted a photo of herself standing under a rainbow stretching across the sky with her dog, Toulouse.
“I'm so grateful, I don't know what to do or what to say… To be here in Oz, where every day changes my life… To feel, learn and grow so much at such disarming speed… To feel so much love all around me, which I start every day before the sun rises and end after it sets," he said.
"Where I hold every day the beautiful, green hands of my brilliant twin flame / sister Cynthia (Erivo)... Where I work in the safest, most beautiful and loving, larger and yet more intimate / tiny spaces..." she continued.
Ariana Grande went on to praise the director of the two 'Wicked' films, Jon M. Chu, whom she called "the most thoughtful, brilliant, compassionate and heartfelt director on this planet, my other best friend since Land of Oz".
Concluding her post, Ariana Grande expressed her gratitude that the film "transformed and healed parts of myself that I never knew needed – or maybe needed."
During the filming of 'Wicked', Ariana Grande stepped away from the spotlight for the first time in nearly a decade.
"I wanted to sing you something but I don't want to sing something that's not from 'Oz' right now I'm staying in my little bubble for now," she wrote on TikTok in January, posting a video of herself singing "Somewhere Over The Rainbow" while reminding her fans that she is "shooting two music movies all day every day."
She returned briefly to duet with The Weeknd on a remix of "Die For You," but Ariana Grande can't be blamed for being reluctant to leave Oz. The pop star had confessed that Glinda was her dream role back in 2013.
“Forgive me for this highly chatty post from a Cancer. Words are not enough, but I guess I just wanted to (try to) share a few things. I don't want it to end. So, while I'm still here, present, now, I just wanted to… shout out my immense gratitude!” she wrote.
“And to allow my heart to overflow. I hope this isn't all a dream, because as much as I try to be present, it sure feels like a dream. Happy halfway to this cutest crew. My fellow Ozians. My heart will be stuck here forever,” Ariana Grande concluded.
