Flevans

Genre acid jazz, funk, electronic, downtempo, chillout

Flevans manages to pull off the oldest of pop music tricks, his musical style being indescribably unique and yet also readily accessible. His DJ sets, just like his own productions, rip up music from any and all genres and periods of music with child-like glee. From folk to funk, from the 20s to the year 2000, Flevans' ear for a good tune transcends normal boundaries and expectations.
Having played piano and double bass throughout his youth in a number of jazz and funk bands (as well as some “questionable” rock bands), there is a live element in all of his productions which works in unison with cut and paste beats and dancefloor orientated riffs. A strong element of the feel good factor is also present in a lot of his previous works; from the warm and relaxed atmosphere of his “Begin Again” EP to the infectious party vibes present in “Go Get The Big Horn” and “Get Caribou” there is an unnameable element to the Flevans sound that has appeal across the board and develops with each release.
