Braids is an art rock/electronic band from Calgary, Alberta and currently based in Montreal, Quebec. The group formed in 2006, consisting of Raphaelle Standell-Preston, Katie Lee, Austin Tufts and Taylor Smith. Their first album, Native Speaker (2011), has received mostly praise from critics, remarkable for its innovative melodies and Standell-Preston's "dynamic" vocals.Keyboardist Katie Lee left the group during the recording of their 2013 album, Flourish // Perish. Raphaelle Standell-Preston is also the vocal half of Blue Hawaii.The 30th of April 2015 they released 'Deep In The Iris', their third album.

John Jagos began recording under the name Brothertiger in Toledo, OH during the summer of 2009. He began recording electronic music in 2006 as Monoteque, an experimental project characterized by tribal beats and pulsing synthesizers. Influenced heavily by the electronic sound of Brian Eno and M83, along with the experimental characteristics of Animal Collective, Caribou, and Yeasayer, Jagos recorded many tracks throughout the final half of 2009. Beefeaters was a blues/garage rock band from Denmark. Starting out as a early sixties beat outfit, they later changed their sound to a more bluesy style while becoming increasingly popular in clubs. They disbanded in 1964 only to reform a year later with a new line-up including Peter Thorup, eventually releasing their first album, the 1967 self-titled "Beefeaters.". In 1969 their second and final album (excl compilations) "Meet You There" was recorded - including original and solid bluesbased rock with a tinge of psychedelia- a style they pioneered completely in Denmark.
