Kanye West has revealed how his 11-year-old daughter, North West, inspired him to dive back into music after a two-year hiatus.
The 47-year-old rapper and producer, who shares four children—North (11), Saint (9), Chicago (7), and Psalm (5)—with his ex-wife Kim Kardashian, 44, hasn’t released an album since Donda in 2021. That project was a heartfelt tribute to his late mother. However, Kanye is set to make his return with a new album titled Bully, and he credits North for reigniting his passion for creating music.
In an Instagram post on Tuesday, Kanye expressed his gratitude and admiration for his daughter, writing, "This little girl made me love music again." He explained how North’s request for beats sparked his creative energy: "She asked me to make beats for her. I got back on the ASR, chopped up beats for her album, and chopped every beat with my bare hands for Bully."
The heartfelt caption accompanied a black-and-white photo of North sitting on an office chair beside a keyboard, offering fans a glimpse into their father-daughter studio sessions.
Kanye’s longtime collaborator Malik Yusef chimed in to confirm North’s role in the process, leaving an enthusiastic comment: "Yes sir, you definitely did that. I've been a witness, seen it with my own two eyes. It’s really good to see the young God YE doing pure magic!"
Last year, Kanye surprised fans with the release of a music video for the track Talking, which featured North not only as the star but also as the credited director. The pre-teen’s involvement in her father’s creative endeavors continues to demonstrate how their bond has become a driving force in Kanye’s artistry.
With Bully on the horizon, Kanye’s return to music is not just a personal revival but a testament to the profound influence his daughter has had on his journey.
